Emailing Investigation Information in i-Sight

Emailing Investigation Information from i-Sight (now Case IQ)
Send and receive emails directly from a case file. This feature was designed with the investigator in mind, eliminating the need to leave the case file and access another email provider to send a case-related message. You can send attachments, maintain an address book and perform other email functions. Emails sent from within i-Sight (now Case IQ) are logged in the case file and date- and time-stamped to ensure all activities are recorded.
Receiving Emails
i-Sight (now Case IQ) can also receive emails from external sources. For example, if an investigator sends an email to a witness requesting information, and the witness simply replies to the email, i-Sight (now Case IQ) will automatically:
- copy the reply email into the correct case file
- send a copy of the email to the investigator's normal “Inbox” outside i-Sight (now Case IQ)

When an investigator replies to an email that was sent from within i-Sight (now Case IQ), the investigator in charge of the case receives a notification in their regular email inbox and the action is logged in the case file, becoming part of the composite case file that includes every activity completed throughout the investigation.

Investigations are time consuming and involve a lot of information. Emailing investigation information from directly within a case files helps investigators save time, since they won’t be searching for – or forgetting about – investigation-related emails.
This feature also helps investigators stay organized and access quickly the entire email history of an investigation from one location. This is particularly important when an investigator is juggling multiple investigations, as there's no need to identify which emails correspond with each case. Emails are stored within the corresponding cases.
