Endeavor was looking to enhance its global compliance controls and processes across a diversified portfolio of companies in multiple business areas. Endeavor sought to standardize compliance processes for third-party risk management, disclosures of conflicts of interest, and the management of gifts, travel, and hospitality across those various businesses. Endeavor ultimately chose Case IQ’s* platform to ensure auditable activities and to provide consistent user experience for its global business user base as well as its legal and compliance approvers.

Endeavor first implemented Case IQ’s Third-Party Management software to enhance controls around onboarding new third parties. The platform manages the end-to-end third-party onboarding process, including: providing a risk-scored business rationale questionnaire for business users, sending due diligence questionnaires to the third party, integrating watchlist/ sanctions/PEP/adverse media screening, and automating approval routing to the right legal and compliance users. Endeavor addresses multiple risks in the platform including anti-bribery and corruption, reputational risk, and data privacy and information security risk. Case IQ’s platform was also able to consume Endeavor’s historical third parties, which significantly minimized the duplication of records.
The second phase involved implementing Case IQ’s Approvals and Disclosure software to create harmonized approval processes for disclosing conflicts of interest as well as the giving and receiving of gifts, travel, and hospitality.
By combining these workflows with the third-party management workflows, Endeavor is able to provide a unified user experience for all of its global employees across its portfolio of businesses.
Case IQ’s compliance monitoring software enables Fresenius Medical Care’s compliance team to risk-score vendor spend and customer revenue transactions globally. Fresenius Medical Care has access to dozens of behavioral, statistical, and policy-based analyses, all highly configurable within the platform. End users do not need data expertise or data engineering skills to configure or maintain those analytics. The Fresenius Medical Care compliance team has access to a user interface that allows them to modify their settings and analyses and create multiple custom analyses without any further technical skill required. Case IQ’s team worked with Fresenius Medical Care’s compliance and finance teams to calibrate their risk settings, add custom keywords, and test those risk settings multiple times before going live with the platform. Currently, Case IQ’s team is working together with a cross-functional Fresenius Medical Care team on ways to set up needed risk settings for additional customer scenarios.
The monitoring tool escalates certain transactions as higher risk, to be reviewed by an internal team at Fresenius Medical Care. All follow-up steps, including remediation, are documented directly within the platform. Reporting is also available in real-time for the Fresenius Medical Care Compliance team to present the results of their monitoring program to internal stakeholders.
The Results
Case IQ was able to manage the breadth of the Endeavor network and implement a holistic workflow tool across a diverse set of businesses. The platform is extremely intuitive and was well received by business users. Case IQ managed the transition from Endeavor’s legacy processes smoothly, including importing Endeavor’s legacy third party universe, and was able to tackle multiple areas of risk exposure, from ethics to data privacy and security, across multiple compliance use cases all in one platform. The platform has provided the centralized Endeavor compliance team with harmonized workflows, data, and reporting to provide further comfort around its compliance controls.
